Yilian Cañizares is a Cuban-Swiss musician who has been described as one of the most incredible new generation talents of the music generation.

She is one of the most interesting contemporary violinists, singers and composers. Always staying true to her origins, she skillfully mixes jazz, classical and Afro-Cuban rhythms with her ethereal voice. Whether on stage or in the recording studio, there are few talented artists like Yilian – who was born in Havana and settled in Switzerland – with as much respect for the past and sensitivity to the future, accompanied by a smile to die for.

In 2008, she won first prize at the Montreux Jazz.

PROJECT Yilian Cañizares & Resilience Trio

Yilian was supposed to tour in 2020, but the pandemic disrupted her plans. Without losing her courage, today she gives life to a new project to express all the emotions caused by the crisis that united all humanity: “Resilience Trio” together with Child Tomas and Inor Sotolongo is a project that conveys hope to all those who, like her, have decided to face adversity and continue to create art.
